The Brown Dog Bookshop
At The Brown Dog Bookshop, we believe in supporting our community and giving back in meaningful ways. As part of our mission, we proudly support animal welfare initiatives and local animal rescue organizations.
Our Giving Focus
The Brown Dog Bookshop exclusively supports animal rescue and animal welfare charities. We prioritize organizations that:
Rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals
Provide veterinary care for animals in need
Provide Food for animals in need
Support spay/neuter and humane education programs
Operate as registered nonprofit organizations
Due to limited resources, we are unable to support causes outside of animal rescue and animal welfare.
Types of Donations
We may provide support in the following ways:
Gift cards for fundraising events
Book donations for auctions or raffles
Percentage-of-sales fundraising partnerships
In-store fundraising events (when space and schedule allow)
All donations are subject to availability and approval.
Request Process
To be considered, donation requests must:
Be submitted in writing via email or in person
Include the organization’s name, contact information, and nonprofit status (if applicable)
Describe the event or fundraiser, including date and purpose
Be received at least 30 days prior to the event
We are unable to accommodate last-minute requests.
Additional Guidelines
Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.
Requests from people who are not in our system as customers will not be considered.
Approved donations must be picked up at the bookstore unless otherwise arranged.
