What Comes Next

Alex is about at the end of her rope, her business failing and her father distant. She thinks she can’t handle anything else when she finds out her mom diied of a rare, genetic medical condition. The worst part of it all is that there is a 50\50 chance that Alex and her sister, Meredith will also have the condition and will die young. '

There is a test that will give them the answer, but they can’t decide whether or not they want to take it. They finally agree to give it three months, think about it and live their life to the fullest in the meantime.

While waiting, Alex is contacted by an ex for help with his rescue dog who needs training in order to save him. He is on a tight deadline and Alex is the only trainer he can get to help him.

This would be a fantastic book club pick. So many discussion points, would you want to know if you had the disease, would you change they way you lived in the mean time? Especially if your group contains some dog lovers.
